Six people have been arrested for planning the murders, while a 14-year old boy and his father were arrested for ‘intentionally committing murder.’
Turkey continues to be rattled by the news of a massacre of 44 people during a wedding ceremony in Mardin. Forty-four people were killed, six of which were children and, 16 women, three of which were pregnant. It now turns out that one of the suspects is a 14-year-old boy who joins the ranks of murderers to have left numerous children to be orphans.As former regional official Cemil Çelebi was dying, he released the names of the murderers. It turns out the weapons used were Kalashnikov rifles, which were not provided by the government and were obtained illegally. After the suspects conducted the massacre they hid the weapons they used to kill the 44 dead, and began to shoot weapons given by the government, for protection from terrorism, into the air in order to make the incident appear to be terrorism-related.
